The New Haven community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of James Troy Hagan, 52, and Lisa Ann Martin Hagan, 50, who passed away in a tragic accident on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Their sudden deaths have left family, friends, neighbors, and countless community members devastated as they remember a couple whose love, generosity, and dedication to others touched countless lives.
Troy and Lisa were widely known as the owners of Hagan Construction, a business they built through hard work, determination, and a shared vision for their future. Together, they also built their family home and farm from the ground up, creating a place that became a gathering point for friends and loved ones.
High school sweethearts, Troy and Lisa shared a lifelong bond that served as an inspiration to those around them. Their love for one another was evident in everything they did, and their home was known as a welcoming place where guests were treated like family. Friends fondly recall enjoying meals prepared by Troy, affectionately known by many as “Chef Boyard Troy,” and experiencing the warmth and hospitality that defined the Hagan household.
The couple shared a passion for the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, and enjoying life on their farm. Family gatherings and celebrations at what many affectionately called the “Hagan Depot” created cherished memories that will live on for generations.
Troy was the son of James E. Hagan and Janet Marie Devine Hagan and brother to Robin Marie Hagan Milliken and Lisa Ann Bowling. Lisa was the daughter of Barbara Ann Martin and the late Michael Anthony “Jimmy” Martin and sister to Angela Gail Martin.
They leave behind their beloved children, Kelsi Ann Hagan, Michael Cole Hagan, and Trevor Kitchen, whom they considered a son, along with numerous relatives, friends, and loved ones.
A memorial service honoring Troy and Lisa will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Barlow Funeral Home, with visitation from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
As the community mourns this tremendous loss, prayers and support continue to surround the Hagan family. Troy and Lisa’s legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will never be forgotten.
