A tragic boating accident in Baldwin County has claimed the life of a Mobile woman, casting a shadow of grief over family, friends, and the Gulf Coast community as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

According to information released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the two-vessel crash occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, in the Intracoastal Waterway near Wolf Bay in Orange Beach. The collision involved a 27-foot 2024 Albury Brothers vessel and a 23-foot 2013 Key West vessel carrying multiple passengers.

Authorities identified the victim as Kristen Delaney, 46, of Mobile, who was a passenger aboard the Albury Brothers vessel. She sustained critical injuries during the collision and was transported to South Baldwin Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, she was later pronounced deceased.

The tragic loss has deeply affected those who knew Delaney, who is being remembered as a devoted mother and loved member of her community. Her death marks the most serious outcome of an incident that left several others injured.

ALEA reported that Brooks Delaney, 51, of Fairhope, who was also a passenger on the Albury Brothers vessel, sustained injuries and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, for treatment. The vessel was being operated by Drew Delaney, 49, of Mobile. A total of eight people were aboard the boat at the time of the crash.

The second vessel, a 23-foot Key West boat, was operated by Cameron Neil, 32, of Houma, Louisiana, who was also injured and taken to Sacred Heart Hospital. Three passengers aboard that vessel—Talyn Faulkner, 25, of Raceland, Louisiana; John Lyle, 28, of Houma; and Rayford Reeves, 34, of Schriever, Louisiana—were also injured and transported for medical care. Eight individuals were on board the Key West vessel.

Following the collision, uninjured occupants and both vessels were taken to the Wharf Docks in Orange Beach.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Marine Patrol Division continues to investigate the fatal crash. No additional information has been released as authorities work to determine the factors that led to the devastating incident.
